Life is full of lessons. Some of which are harder to swallow than others. Ellie the Wienerdog is teaching kids life lessons, in a playful and adorable way.
It’s Hard to be Good (Life’s Little Lessons by Ellie the Wienerdog)
Just like our children, Ellie tries so very hard to be good. But sometimes, it’s much harder than other times. There always seems to be things that tempt us to do what we know we shouldn’t. For Ellie, it’s tasty sandwiches, trash baskets full of things to play with, or a yummy, freshly baked ham!
Much like our children love to praised, little Ellie wants to please her owners, because she loves to hear “what a good dog,” when she behaves. She craves that positive reinforcement, but there always seems to be something naughty taunting her to do something bad.
Fun for Kids
This book is truly precious! The illustrations of Ellie, are just so darn adorable! (Liam’s most favorite is the drawing of the big, tasty foods that taunt little Ellie.) The story is wonderful and fun. It reaches out and teaches your child a lesson, in a way that’s engaging and enjoyable. As a parent, I guarantee you’ll love this book as well. It’s perfect to read to young children, or for early readers to read to you. It would be an amazing addition to elementary classrooms, preschools, day cares, and of course your home.
The gift of reading
Giving the gift of reading is becoming a more popular trend. Adults adore giving books, and children love receiving them. Liam and I both agree that It’s Hard to be Good is the ultimate children’s book to give as a gift this holiday season. Get a copy for the kids on your list, for your child’s classroom or library, or even to donate to your local library. This way, you can spread Ellie the Wienerdog’s little life lessons.
Where to buy
To get a copy (or a few) to give as gifts this season, head to Open Door Press. You and your children can also visit Ellie on her website. Don’t forget to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
