It is now half way through February, how are those resolutions going? For most of us the New Years is a great way to say that we really want to be a better version of ourselves but a few days into the new year life gets in the way and that idea we had gets lost in the daily grind. I am extremely guilty of setting over the top goals for myself and not even coming close to meeting them. The idea of course is that I can fix every area in my life at once, not possible I know! So then how on earth do we find a middle ground to actually start being that better self?
The best place to start is an easy place like your food. If you have managed to still get your butt to the gym then you have a leg up! But if not then that is an easy thing to remedy :D. Anyone who has tried to eat healthier knows the rules, three portion controlled meals a day, two smart snacks, get your four food groups in, omega’s and amino acids and TADA your eating better!
Now comes the tough part, what about when your hungry and on the go? When you just cannot take it anymore and when you pass the next drive thru you are sooooo pulling in! You don’t want to give in but you feel so hungry you can’t help yourself, and your already spoiling your healthy trend, so might as well order up a milkshake and enjoy your broken health streak!Sound like you? I know it was me for a long time! So how about a smarter approach? How about having snacks on hand that make you happy your eating healthy? How about having snacks on hand your kids will love over that drive thru garbage that it truly is? Obviously you can always pack veggies or fruit in bags and stow them in your bag but those can go bad if not eaten that day. How about trying something new, something perfect for on the go and after workouts that make you feel great? Here are a few great on the go ideas to help make snack time yummy, kid approved and great for workout recovery!
