These Blood Jello Shots are great for serving at your next Halloween party. You can also make some without alcohol for children and adults to enjoy.

The cherry jello not only adds a lot of flavors but it creates the perfect blood look.

Party guests will love squeezing the blood jello out of the syringe. 

Making Blood Jello Shots is extremely easy.

You simply make the jello-like normal, except you decrease the water and add some alcohol and then fill up syringes with the liquid jello and allow it to set in the refrigerator.  

In about 3 hours, you’ll have cherry-flavored bloody jello shots ready to enjoy!

This fun and spooky Blood Shots recipe uses everyday kitchen staples to create a delicious shot you will love.

All you need is:

  • a box of cherry gelatin 
  • some white rum
  • water

Begin by boiling one cup of water.

In a large bowl, add the gelatin, whisk for 2 minutes until completely dissolved.

Add some rum and stir. Insert a syringe into the jello mixture and pull the syringe up, until it is filled with jello.

Place the syringes on a tray and chill for 3 hours to set. In a few hours, you’ll have a spooky shot that’s sure to become a new favorite!

HOW LONG DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO MAKE BLOOD JELLO “SHOTS”?

This yummy Blood Jello Shot recipe takes approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. TOTAL. This includes:

  • About 5 minutes to boil some water
  • Close to 5 minutes to make the jello
  • Around 20 minutes to fill the syringes with jello
  • 15 minutes to cool the rolls
  • 3 hours for the jello to set

HOW DO I STORE BLOOD JELLO “SHOTS”?

You can store Blood Jello “Shots” on a tray in your refrigerator for 3 days.

Simply remove the jello-filled syringes from the refrigerator once you are ready to serve.

CAN I USE VODKA INSTEAD OF RUM?

Yes, you can use vodka instead of rum to make these Blood Jello Shots.

Either rum or vodka will taste great in these cherry jello shots.

You can also use flavored alcohol. 

CAN I MAKE BLOOD JELLO “SHOTS” AHEAD OF TIME?

Yes, you can easily make Blood Jello Shots the day before serving.

Simply keep them stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

You can keep the shots stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

CAN I MAKE THESE BLOOD JELLO “SHOTS” NON-ALCOHOLIC?

You can make these blood jello “shots” non-alcoholic for kids to enjoy and anyone avoiding alcohol.

Instead of adding 1 cup of alcohol, add another cup of water, and then make the recipe according to the directions.

I prefer cherry flavor but any jello that is red in color will work great.

You can find syringes through Amazon. I used 48 syringes to make this recipe.

You can purchase a pack of 50 syringes made just for jello shots for around $31 through Amazon.

You can wash these syringes and reuse them again for other parties. 

WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD TO THIS BLOOD JELLO “SHOT” RECIPE?

This fun Blood Jello Shot recipe not only tastes great, but it’s also incredibly versatile.

Try adding some red food gel to the outside of the syringes to look like dripping blood. YUM!
