Being Thanksgiving TODAY I wanted to write about gratitude plus share a beautiful book with our readers. This morning my daughter and I sat down and talked about gratitude. She was unclear what it was so we looked it up and I had her read what it meant then tell me what she is grateful for today.
Gratitude the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
We then read Kathy Walsh’s Book “Gratitude Is a Funny Thing”. My daughter loved all the bright colors and cute pictures. Her favorite saying is “Show gratitude each day and it will come back to you” she wants to show her gratitude more to people in her life. This book gave us an opening to have a dialog about what gratitude is and how we can implement it in our lives. I know some adults who need to read this book too. We all need to practice gratitude- young and old.
I plan to get a gratitude notebook- to be honest I really need to do this because I want to focus more on the good and the people around me. My daughter, she wants to write Thank You notes to her teachers and friends. We got these ideas by reading “Gratitude Is a Funny Thing” by Kathy Walsh. As a parent I want my kids to show gratitude and I’m so happy I was able to share this book with my daughter.
Kathy Walsh has more books that gives children the tools they need to lead a more peaceful balanced life. Children learn to connect with their hearts, think positively, and to express their feelings.
