So if you follow my blog, or my posts on this blog, you probably know I’m obsessed with Netflix. I’m also obsessed with hair and makeup, so when I’m watching a show and I see something I like, I try and replicate it. For example, during my Vampire Diaries phase, I was OBSESSED with Katherine Pierce’s hair and makeup, and would constantly play around trying to recreate it. I actually ended up doing my prom makeup inspired by Vampire Diaries, so that can demonstrate my TV-to-real-life-makeup dedication. :)
Recently, my friends got me hooked to the show Gossip Girl, and I’m obsessed with Serena van der Woodsen’s hair (and her style, and her boyfriend, and her life)! It’s very thick, flowy, voluminous, and wavy. Basically, everything I aspire for my hair.
Naturally, I have thin hair, so to achieve this look, I knew I’d need a really good hairspray to give my hair that extra height. I never use hairspray; I have bad experiences using it in the past. When I think of it, I’m reminded of days my mom would have to plaster my hair back for dance recitals, and my hair would feel like a helmet. I hate the way hairspray typically makes my hair feel–crunchy and hard, like it’ll snap if I bend it–so usually I’m comfortable doing without it. But for this look, it was so obvious I needed it, that I had to try out the relaunched Bosley Professional Strength BosVolumize Styling Hairspray.
The first thing I did to get the Serena look was take a shower so I had clean hair to work with. After I got out, I toweled it until it was damp. Then, with a hair dryer, I began drying my hair and scrunching it as I did so. I kept the hair dryer directly above my head so the roots dried first, and then worked down the length of my hair. Then, to increase volume, I flipped my hair over and dried my hair to create more volume. When I was finished drying, I took a straightener and tamed the crazy curls because my hair has a habit of being wild sometimes. However, after drying and styling, my hair still wasn’t voluminous enough. This is where Bosley Professional Strength hairspray came in.
I took a comb and teased the roots of my hair. Until I reached the desired height, I sprayed Bosley Professional Strength all over the teased areas, and then smoothed it. Next, I rocked out to the chorus of my favorite Green Day song and did a few hair flips while spraying Bosley Professional Strength all over my head.
At first, the hairspray made my hair feel hard. I was nervous it’d end up feeling crunchy for the rest of the day. In a couple minutes however, the uncomfortable feeling disappeared, as if it dissolved into my hair after locking it securely into place. Along with making my hair smell really nice (I received a bunch of compliments on the scent believe it or not), my hair was smooth, tamed, voluminous, and soft. I could twirl and run my fingers through my hair without feeling like tons of product was in it–and that’s my favorite part about Bosley’s Styling Hairspray. Below is a picture of my final result. :)
Bosley Professional Strength is a weightless hairspray that works extremely well and maximized my hair’s potential. I was able to achieve Serena’s look, and transform my naturally thin hair into something fuller-looking and beautiful. My favorite part about Bosley Professional Strength was definitely either how much it changed my hair, or the scent. Overall, I adored the product.
Bosley Professional Strength is great for people looking to transform their hair. There is no build up from the product, no crunchy/sticky feeling from the amount of spray used, and absolutely no flaking. It protects your hair against humidity and heat while hydrating your hair, and is also a color keeper (it prolongs your hair color).
Bosley Professional Strength products are also known for triggering hair growth and preventing hair loss. On multiple accounts, people have used Bosley Professional Strength products and have seen monumental changes in the thickness of their hair. Bosley Stlying Hairspray is light, weightless, and EFFECTIVE. I will definitely be using this again in the future, and adding it to my daily hair routine when I am looking to achieve a daring, voluminous look.
