Reading is essential to help kids learn.

Our family loves to read together and independently. We have a reading time that allows us to read all of the books we borrow from the library. A weekly visit to the library helps us stay on track and keep our interest in so many different books. We also love to check out the new releases. We have memorized exactly where we need to go to find the books that interest us most.

Make sure you take a visit to your local library. If you haven’t been there in a while I think you will be surprised at all the wonderful new books they have as well as the free children’s and adult programs. My kids just love everything about our library, from the Lego clubs to the reading contests there is a whole lot to love when you visit the library every week.

All sorts of books are available to help us learn more about many different topics. If the kids need to research a topic for school or just are interested in finding out more about robots, we head to the library. I know it is the digital age, but there is just something about holding a book that is relaxing. Besides almost every book is available online too if you can’t get to the library. But, above all my kids love picture books.

We were thrilled to read the book about Oskar.

Oskar is an adorable bird who loves many different things. He loves the spring, the rain, cherries and he wants to know what you love as well. The graphics are adorable. Oskar has a cute smile that is contagious on every page.
