We live very close to the New York border, so I know first hand there are some foods that only New York can do! If you’re looking for a creative gift for a foodie in your life, or for someone who may miss their home state of New York, then The Empire Crate is for you!
Bring New York home every month
The people behind Empire Crate travel across the state visiting local food events and farmer’s markets, to curate the best foods that New York has to offer. These products come from Brooklyn, Manhattan, Utica, Syracuse, Rhinebeck, and Kingston. They then hand-pick these items to include in each month’s Empire Crate. Each month will be different items, so you’ll never know what to expect. The only thing you can count on is that items will be delicious, unique, and made by truly passionate food artisans.
How it works
This is probably the easiest part. Choose the plan that you would like, or like to give. You can choose to pay by the month, (as a one time gift, or more, and cancel at any time,) you can pay for three months prepay and save six percent, or even a six month prepay and save eleven percent! Empire Crate then ships it to you, or your recipient each month. (Shipping is always free!)
What’s in a box?
As I said above, that will be a monthly surprise. However, here are a few examples of some small-batch products that an Empire Crate may include. Bjorn Qorn Sun Popped Corn, Salty Road Saltwater Taffy, State Fair Spiedie Sauce, (which I can honestly say is the BEST marinade that you can buy,) and so much more!
What did we think?
We received an Empire Crate a few days ago, and my husband was especially stoked. Growing up just ten minutes from New York State, he grew up eating many foods that the Empire State had to offer. Our box included quite a few goodies! Liam and his friend were quick to try the Strawberry and Mango Licorice. (I was shocked because Liam never offers to try new foods!) They also inhaled the box of Martin’s Handmade Salted Pretzels. Liam especially loved those! My older boy was all over the dry roasted pumpkin seeds. Our box also included Weber’s Horseradish Mustard. I set that aside for my grammy, as she adores horseradish mustard.
