Accessorizing the Bathroom

After you have all of the large items in your bathroom, it’s time to start adding the accessories. Different accessories can play different roles. For example, you can buy a toothbrush holder. Companies like Decor Planet have items like towel warmers and decorations that can be placed on counters to give a comforting look to the room. You can choose a theme for the room, or you can use a few different colors when you think about the accessories that you want to get.

An easy place to start is with the rugs that you want on the floor. You don’t need to use rugs in the bathroom, but they make it easier to have a support when you get out of the shower or tub. Try to find rugs that have a surface that doesn’t slide in case the floor gets wet. There are rugs that can be placed in front of the sink and those that can be placed around the toilet. You can also get larger towels for in front of the tub and shower. When you get rugs for the bathroom, you need to get something that repels water as much as possible. If you get a thinner rug, it’s a good idea to have a few extras so that you can wash them when they get wet from stepping on them after taking a bath.

Candles are other accessories that you can get for the bathroom. You can get large candles to place on the toilet tank or smaller candles that can be placed around the edge of a garden tub to give a beautiful look. Use candles that match the other colors in the room, and if you change the theme or the colors of the larger accessories, change the candles as well. Pictures on the wall are an option if you don’t want the room to look plain. Consider pictures with a beach scene, a lighthouse or those that have something to do with water. Other accessories include a toothbrush holder, shower curtain and liner or a cup dispenser to use when brushing the teeth. If you have children, try to let them have a hand in decorating the bathroom so that they feel like they are a part in the home.
