If you have a son, the chances are you’ll want to get him something truly memorable for his birthday this year. It’s all well and good purchasing the best cake and organising a fun party for him and his friends, but he’ll still want a gift that he can enjoy for years to come. Considering that, I’ve spent the best part of this morning researching the markets and current trends. In doing this, I’ve come up with four perfect present ideas he’s guaranteed to love. So, take a moment or two to read through the suggestions made in this post before looking online or heading down to your local shopping centre. You obviously don’t have to pick any of the products listed below, but hearing about them should at least give you the inspiration to think of something just as suitable.
1. Collectible models
Whether your little one is interested in cars, action figures or anything else of that nature, opting to purchase him a collectible item for his birthday is sure to put a smile on his face. The problem with regular toys is they’re only good for a limited amount of time before they break or become boring. However, if you pick up some fairground models or anything else that will increase in value over time, he’ll be more inclined to hang onto the item and keep it in good condition. That helps to build useful skills for later life too.
2. Electric motorbikes
Most young boys dream of the day when they’re old enough to ride a scrambler or pass their test and get out on the road with their scooter, so why not decrease the wait and get your son an electric motorbike. The great thing about this is that he can ride it on the path, off road in the woodland or just about anywhere else you might take him, or he might have access to. Don’t worry too much about injuries, as these products usually have a top speed of around 5 mph.
3. Games consoles
While you don’t want to encourage your son to spend his entire day hibernating upstairs, you also don’t want to make him feel left out. So, purchasing the latest games console is always a wise move. All his friends will already have one, and thanks to advancements in technology, he should be able to play with them online. If you get him a decent set of headphones too, some games will allow him to talk with his friends during the game, so at least he’ll still be a little sociable.
4. Remote control toys
Whether it’s a car, a helicopter or even a drone, purchasing remote control toys for your son is sure to make him a happy chappie. The drone option will be the most expensive, but it’s also the most enjoyable, and that’s worth bearing that in mind. So long as you’re willing to spend somewhere in the region of £200, you should be able to get a top of the range item with a HD camera fitted. That’s hours of fun that both you and your husband will also enjoy.
