Wild Dunes Resort, A Destination Hotel has announced a number of extensive renovations have been completed at its AAA Four Diamond rated Boardwalk Inn. Located just 150 yards from the beach, the Boardwalk Inn has refreshed its accommodations with a balanced mix of beachy aesthetics and historic Charleston charm. Also new to the Boardwalk Inn is its nautical-themed restaurant Coastal Provisions, which opened April 2016 and offers both casual and upscale seafood, meats and craft cocktails, with the option for poolside terrace dining. Like all properties in the Destination Hotels collection, Wild Dunes offers authentically-immersed experiences that are true to its place.
“The overall design concept for the Boardwalk Inn embraces the best of what Charleston has to offer, a historic past and seaside oasis,” states Kelley Levesque of design5280’, llc. “Combining old and new furnishings with hints of Charleston’s famous ironwork, and sprinkling in unexpected beachy elements, I’ve aimed to create an atmosphere that is sophisticated and special for a romantic couples getaway, and casual and comfortable for a memorable family vacation. Sipping drinks at the bar of Coastal Provisions, passing time playing checkers in the lobby or relaxing in a cabana by the pool, the Boardwalk Inn is the place that will welcome you after a day in the sun or seeing the sights.”
The renovated Boardwalk Inn lobby features a classic and timeless black and white color scheme livened up with pops of color in the furniture and accessories. The updated lobby is also home to a community table for guests to work and socialize. Improved guestrooms exhibit Charleston charm in the traditional bathroom vanity, tufted headboard, classic desk and desk chair. Golden sunlight walls, seagrass-inspired tile, airy white linen drapery, quirky log coffee tables and a mix of modern and classic art evoke an oceanside experience. The lobby features an assortment of regionally inspired art concentrating on local artists in partnership with Hagan Fine Art Gallery.
