Wedding Gift Ideas

With the wedding season upon us soon we all need to be thinking about the Wedding Gifts.  Shopping for the new couple can be so much fun but sometimes you might not know what to get for them.  Some friends I have no idea what their decor is like so I try to keep to the registry.  However, if I know them then I don’t stick to the registry because I feel a special unique gifts makes a more personal statement. I love to buy gifts and I usually buy something personalized like blankets, bathrobe or towels with embroidery initials.

I want to give them something they can keep for years and always remember who got that for them.  Weddings you are supposed to spoil the bride and groom. I want my gift to say how special they are to me and that I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

Decorating a house is so important for new couples.  When my husband and I got married I told him I wanted a grown up house, not a throw together with whatever each us had.  We started over and decided on “our” style then let our family and friends know we wanted to decorate our home.  We didn’t need blenders, microwaves or coffee makers because we were in our 30’s and already had all those. We received bedding, pillows, blankets, photo albums, and my favorite gift was personalized robes with our last name on them.

Here are couple decorating gift ideas that a newlywed couple might like:

  • Bed linens~ we all need new linens every year so why not start out right with crisp clean bed sheets.
  • Rugs ~ a beautiful rug for the kitchen or living room is important to have to add to the decor.
  • Throws/Blankets – a nice simple wool throw is just what a couple needs to snuggle up on the couch.
