Brain health is a topic that is on the minds of many people these days, with all the news articles and editorial stories floating around about the rise in dementia, Alzheimer’s and other neurological disorders among the elderly, in particular. However, of greater concern to me is the seemingly rising number of younger adults that are experiencing diminished brain function. There are many causes for these conditions, but relatively few available treatments, and funding for research…don’t even get me started on that issue. With The Complete Brain Exercise Book: Train Your Brain! by Dr. Fraser Smith, BA, MATD, ND you can train your brain for a healthier you, right now when the most progress may be made in staving off the decline of brain function.
Most books on the subject focus on prevention and treatment after brain function deficits are identified. Where this book differs is that it takes this approach a step further, covering mental speed, visual-spatial acuity, language acquisition, sensory growth and motor skills. In addition to helping recover brain function, The Complete Brain Exercise Book details ways to to help prevent the loss of brain function before it’s an issue.
There are many different kinds of exercises included in the book. No need to barrel your way through the whole thing and try these all at once. So, even if you are already pretty educated in this subject area, there is something new to learn for everyone.
