Summer goes all too quickly if you’re not prepared, so try to spend the rest of the year gathering all your equipment up, so by the time the season’s here, you’re ready to get exploring and having fun. Plus, the more organized you are, the more likely you are to have the best kit for the least amount of money – as you’ll be ready for any sales!

Top Five Pieces of Kit for Guaranteed Summer Fun

  1. Surfboards

If you live within driving distance of the beach, getting a surfboard or body board should be top of your list. Even if you’ve never used one before, it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it. You’ll get wet – so depending on where you are, you might want a wetsuit too. If you’ve been surfing for years, then this summer it’s time to step things up a notch. Get hold of motorized boards, and see what you can do with all that extra power behind you. Plus, with one of these boards, you can have fun in the rivers and lakes near you – you don’t need a wave to ride one. Or, if you’re happier with a body board, see if you can progress onto surfboards by the end of the season.

  1. Pool – or paddling pool

Now, a pool might be a bit hard to just ‘get’ over the summer – unless you’re planning on doing a lot of building work, that is. So, if you don’t have one, see where your closest one is and get a membership. Not only is it the best way to exercise during the summer months, but it’ll keep you cool too. If you’ve got children or dogs, buying a paddling pool or above ground pool will keep them cool and entertained throughout the summer.

  1. Bicycles

There’s no better way to explore the countryside than on the seat of a bike. So, this summer, see if you can buy or borrow a bike and start exploring the area around you. You could even put bike racks on the top or back of your car, and venture off into another state to explore.

  1. Bats and balls

Easy to get hold of and cheap to buy, bats and balls will always go down well. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue or a long, lazy picnic on the beach, having a set of bats and balls will keep everyone occupied – no matter how old they are! Plus, if you get inflatable sets, you’ll be able to move games into the water too.

  1. Campervan

What could be better for getting the most out of the summer than hopping into your campervan and touring around the country? From lengthy road trips to quick weekend getaways, a campervan is the ultimate piece of kit for an awesome summer. Yes, they’re quite an investment, but you’ll save money on hotels and campsites – and you’ll have the freedom to holiday wherever and whenever you want.
