Tips for Brushing Your Baby’s Teeth

Oral hygiene is very important, which is why these tips for brushing your baby’s teeth are just what you need. Once good brushing habits are developed, you can rest assured knowing that your baby’s teeth will be healthy and strong.

Start Brushing Baby’s Teeth Young

Good brushing habits should start before your baby even has teeth. By starting young, your baby will be used to have his teeth brushed, making it less of a battle later on than it would be for a toddler who has never brushed. This will also help ensure your baby’s teeth are healthy and strong from the start.

Use the Right Toothpaste

The toothpaste or gel you use for your kids will depend on how old they are. Always read the label on the toothpaste to see what age it is recommended for. You can also check with your dentist and see what type of toothpaste they recommend to use on your baby’s teeth.

Use the Right Toothbrush

Since you’re starting to brush your baby’s teeth while he is young, a normal toothbrush won’t do. Instead, look for a brush that can slip over your finger. This will allow you to easily slip your finger in baby’s mouth and brush those tiny teeth. The Brushies has a great set of toothbrushes that you can buy. The set comes with four, adorable toothbrushes, as well as a book. You can read the book to your baby and toddler to help explain why brushing teeth is so important. Brushing Baby's Teeth with The Brushies

About The Brushies

Once upon a time there was a family dentist named Hilary who day after day would treat TINY patients with BIG tooth problems, and even HER OWN children refused to brush.  But in a moment between her toddler and a finger puppet she had a flash of inspiration!  She called her friend Colleen who happened to be a family psychologist with three kiddos of her own who somehow got her little ones to love brushing AND had a knack for transforming challenges!

Together they completely reimagined how brushing should be for children and their families and the result was the Brushies.
