I think we’ve all heard the saying, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” But do you know why? Eating a proper breakfast in the morning not only sets the tone for the day, but it kick starts your metabolism, and gives you energy for better focus at school and at work.

Whether you’re in a hurry, or having a relaxing morning, eating healthy and getting the right nutrients is important. Here are some tips to make the most of your breakfast.

Breakfast On the Go

Let’s face it, we lead busy lives. We don’t always have time to sit down and enjoy a balanced meal in the morning. I’m guilty of fueling up on just coffee until lunch time. However, there are plenty of good foods out there that are quick, delicious, and healthy.

 

My son’s go to breakfast food is Munk Pack. Their Oatmeal Fruit Squeezes are not only yummy, but they’re healthy, and filling too. He eats one or two for breakfast, and often has one with his lunch. If you’re in a hurry in the morning, grab an Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze and an apple or banana, and voila, breakfast on the go!

Whip Up a Smoothie

My eldest son and I both love smoothies. Our most favorite is when I use strawberry banana yogurt, and add in fresh strawberries and banana slices. I blend it all up, add a bit of ice and milk and blend some more. To make it even healthier, I add in some of Carrington Farms Coconut Protein Blend. It’s made of only three clean ingredients. It’s also Vegan and has no added sugars. A great way to add some protein and fiber to your diet.

If we’re headed out of the house in the morning, I take our smoothies to go. We pour them into Hurom’s Juice Jar. This handy-dandy glass jar is perfect. It has a rubber grip on the outside, and the stainless steel lid screws on and is air tight. That keeps the air from compromising your juice inside. It’s BPA free too! You can use it to hold any liquid for families on the go.

Add Some Crunch

If you like to enjoy yogurt for breakfast, that’s awesome! It’s so good for us. However, if you want to make it even better, sprinkle on some of Viki’s Granola. They have five tasty flavors, and trust me, you’ll want them all. I keep all of them on hand because my eldest son and I love them!
