If you’re looking for a great new book for the young girls on your holiday shopping list, then look no further than The Gift of Gift, by Sanjay Nambiar.
The Gift of Gift
The Super Amazing Princess Heroes star in this new children’s book. They travel to Uganda to help build a school for the children there. While working on the school, Kinney becomes very sick. They rush her to the doctor and they discover that she has a hole in heart. To have it repaired, she must fly back to the United States, because there isn’t a hospital in Uganda that can help her.
While she’s recovering, she gets a card from her new Ugandan friend, Gift. Gift is excited for Kinney to get well so she can come back and visit her in Uganda. After a few weeks, Kinney is all better, and back to school, enjoying life with her friends. One day, one of the Fairy Teacher Mother Superstar Queens visits the girls. Her name is Betty, and she tells them that Gift is very sick, and in fact has a hole in her heart, just like Kinney did. Now Gift needs to come to the United States to get the same help that Kinney did.
But how can the girls help? Simple! They travel back to Uganda, and using their super powers and kindness, they build a heart hospital for Gift and the children of Uganda. The hospital was quickly finished and Gift was able to get her life saving surgery. Not only that but Betty gave her a special super power. The power of healing.
Children will love this book
I personally loved this book. I even read it to my son, and he enjoyed it as well. He loved that not only was it a story, but it was about helping others too. The illustrations by Sedi Pak are so bright and colorful. They’re just gorgeous to look at, and really help capture the feeling of the book.
Sanjay wrote this amazing book for the World Children’s Initiative. They’re a non-profit organization that works to build healthcare and educational opportunities for children in developing areas.
