Summer on the French Riviera – The Living is Easy

The French Riviera – What’s Not to Adore? | Nice Apartments

  1. Scott Fitzgerald had a passion for the French Riviera, calling it a “playground” and describing it as a place where the whole world goes to “forget or rejoice, to hide its face or have its fling.” He is not alone in his summary – every year people up-sticks and leave the UK for the warmth and laidback lifestyle associated with a more pleasant life in the South of France. Eminent resorts including Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, and Monaco conjure up images of leisurely sun-drenched days, palm trees swaying gently in the breeze and the odd famous face sauntering by.

It’s not hard to see why it’s so popular. With clear blue skies and breathtaking views, the French Riviera offers an alternative way of life that is hard to resist. A haven for artists, Picasso and Van Gogh frequented the Cote d’Azur in a bid to capture the fantastic light and perfect their brush strokes. Nowadays the South of France still attracts those who enjoy the freedom of creativity and the finer things in life. Elton John has a holiday home near Nice and Bono, of U2 fame, has a rather swish pad in Eze-Bord de Mar.

We might not be able to afford the villas and mansions that are on par with the rich and famous but that does not rule out buying real estate on the French Riviera. There are some lovely apartments for sale in Nice and you could find your very own slice of the Med. Imagine sitting on your balcony, enjoying a glass of chilled white and a platter of lip-smacking cheese. Situated right in the middle of the Mediterranean coastline, Nice offers a bustling, cosmopolitan hub. Take time to discover the beautiful beaches, delicious food, intriguing culture and exquisite art.

Or maybe sumptuous Monaco is more of your cup of café au lait? Monaco harbor nestles yachts that are hugely fabulous, toys of the affluent, they come equipped with everything you could wish for. You need a place to land the helicopter? Absolutely fine, put it here, right here, on my helipad sweetie, darling!

If a yacht is slightly out of your price range don’t despair and don’t rule out living in Monaco, property for sale varies from apartments in Monte-Carlo in the renowned Carre d’Or, to pads on the harbor looking out over the Monaco Grand Prix circuit (and other dwellings in between).

Summer in the South of France consists of plenty of rest and relaxation, beach hopping, fine food, Provence vineyard tours (maybe a few sips of vino along the way?). There’s also a lot of soaking up of the sun to be done and don’t forget to dip into that plentiful history and culture. A home on the French Riviera could provide the perfect base to realize your dream of plentiful fun in the sun. Take a sneaky peak at the apartments for sale in Nice and start planning for your very own “home in the sun.”
