Financial planning is scary! It shouldn’t be a negative chore, but you know when Financial Planning is brought up we all cringe. I know we need help, and I have questions on how to handle my money. Working from home, I don’t have an HR department to help me with savings, retirement, and investments questions. I was introduced to SUM180 an online financial planning site, to help me with all of these issues I have about the future and money.
My main question is how do I plan for the extra expenses we will have this year with my daughter going to college. Plus, I also need to know how to plan for retirement. I don’t want to work from home in my 90’s so I need a plan. After looking more in SUM180, I know this is what I need to get my family’s finances in order.
SUM180 is a subscription-based site (Free-Subscription-Premium Subscription) that is a self-paced program that you sign up for a year. It is very affordable too! You can even change your information during the year and get more tasks to do aka- new Plan.
Are you ready to know more- well here you go!
First, you will need to prepare for the Online Interview. SUM180 will give you a list of documents you will need to complete the online interview. You will need income information, your expenses, tax info, any assets, investments, and of course your debt. Make sure to have all these docs before you start the interview.
The Interview will take about 45-60 minutes to complete. It will depend on how prepared you are, and the interview is filling in numbers, and you can go at your pace. I liked that a lot because I wasn’t able to do it all in one setting.
After a week I got My Plan. At first, it lets you know what you are doing the best -your accomplishments. I like that, it buttered me up first then stuck it to me on what I need to do. The process was super easy and I actually learned a great deal too. I wasn’t aware of my spending habits until it was in front of me. The plan is personalized just for me. When I received my plan it was easy to read and I didn’t feel dumb. I feel this was so worth my time and money. Also if I have questions I can talk to a financial planner on the phone too! While this is an additional service to my subscription, it would be worth it if I had questions.
I feel like I have goals now and didn’t before, so I’m excited to work on my 3 tasks they sent me to start out with, and when I get done with those tasks, I can work on more. It is time for me to build a better financial future for my FAMILY!
As a special introductory offer, KTOT readers will receive 50% off a SUM180 subscription when they use the exclusive promo code: SIMPLE50. This offer is good through December 2016.
