The question you have to ask yourself is, “are these snacks healthy for my child in any way?” You always want to make sure that your child has a snack that is good for both them and their teeth as well. So with that being said, check out these healthy Back-to-School Recipes from Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC):
- 1 Banana
- 3 Strawberries
- ½ large Kiwi
- ¼ Melon
- Prepare fruit by slicing bananas and kiwi, cutting off strawberry tops and cutting melon
- Skewer fruit onto popsicle sticks
- 1 tbs Nutella
- 1 Banana
- Whole Wheat Wrap
- Lay your wrap flat and slater with Nutella
- Place the banana on top of your chocolate coating
- Roll the wrap as you would a burrito
- Cut into 1-inch sections
- 2 cups baby fresh spinach
- ½ small Granny Smith apple, chopped
- ½ cup golden raisins
- 2 tbs balsamic vinaigrette
- Wash spinach and place in bowl
- Chop apple
- Mix raisins, apple, and spinach
- Toss with balsamic vinaigrette, or serve salad with dressing on the side
