Summer is almost over and the kids are either back in school or will be very soon. Now it is time for us to be able to sit back and relax with a nice glass of lemonade or maybe an ice tea. Well with the SodaStream you can make what ever beverage you would like. From soda to sparkling flavored water. Recently I was sent the SodaStream Source to review and love it!
When I received my soda stream, I was super excited. After opening the box, it was a very easy step up. It took less than 3 minutes to get the Soda Stream ready. Once I read the instructions in was only a matter of time before I tried the product.
We all know how important it is to drink water, but sometimes drinking water can feel like a chore. Water just isn’t that exciting and there are a lot of other, and not nearly as healthy, things out there to drink. SodaStream offers an excellent solution to this problem. Seltzer water tends to be a lot more fun to drink than plain water. At first I didn’t know if it would taste like the product I get at the store. I’ll tell you honestly, it did. If I did a blind taste test I don’t know if I would be able to pick which was Soda Stream or the major soda brand.
I am not to much of a soda drinker, but I do love flavored water and making it with my Sodastream is so wonderful. As a part of our healthy journey, soda may not seem the perfect fit, but we think it is a much better choice than traditional soda. You can also buy flavors called “my water” which is like drinking soda, but with just a touch of flavor. They also now have Crystal Light flavors, so there are many healthier options for soda drinking! When we are craving and absolutely MUST have soda, we have started turning to the Soda Maker rather than regular soda!
In order to use the machine you must have very cold water to get the best carbonation. I started keeping a bottle of cold water in the fridge just for that purpose. The trickiest part is screwing the bottle in, with one hand you have to push the front part in which makes the part where you screw the bottle in push out. Then using your other hand screw the bottle in. The first few times were a bit tricky but it became easier with practice. After screwing the bottle in push the top button until you hear a loud buzz then push the button two more times to get an average fizz.
Right from the start our experience with the SodaStream was a positive one, as there is almost no set-up involved in putting a SodaStream together, aside from inserting the carbonator.
