Show Me Your Hand Glasses #HelpTheWorldSee @SheSpeaksUp @OneSightOrg

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/OneSight

My daughter wears glasses and has been since the first grade.  Kindergarten was very hard for her to see the board or even read so we went to a clinic that gave FREE eye exams, and that’s when we found out she needed glasses.  Since getting the glasses, she can sit anywhere in the classroom and no more headaches when she reads.  If we didn’t get her eyes checked, we would never know she needed glasses.  Getting your eyes checked is crucial for EVERYONE!

OneSight is an independent nonprofit committed to putting and end to the global vision care crisis. Their promise is simple: they will not stop until the world can see. I like that promise a lot.  Everyone should have these services available even in the underserved communities around the world. OneSight provides charitable and sustainable solutions to meet both the immediate and long-term vision care needs of underserved communities, both internationally and domestically. Around the world and even in the United States there are kids and even grown-ups that need eye care.  Permanent access and sustainable practices, vision care, should be readily available to every community, country and continent in our lifetime.  We all know that isn’t happening.

In 27 years, OneSight has helped 9 million people in 41 countries and 47 states see clearly.  I love to hear those stats! Plus ore than 1,000 trained volunteers and doctors travel the globe to staff OneSight Clinics and teach residents as part of our commitment to transfer skills and build sustainable infrastructures. OneSight and Deloitte have collaborated to bring this problem into focus. They released a study that reveals a startling finding: 1.1 billion people around the world need glasses but don’t yet have access to vision care. That’s 1 in 7 of us! So let’s help them spread the word about OneSights mission and get more people the EYE CARE they need.

How can you help:

  • Share a Photo – Post a picture of you, or family, using your hands as glasses (i.e. “hand glasses”) with the hashtag #HelpTheWorldSee to bring attention to OneSight’s mission.

  • Donate – If we all donate $1 to the cause at OneSight.org/donate just imagine the good we can do! $1 is not much at all to the help the 1 billion people without access to vision care.

Please connect with OneSight on Social Media to learn more and get involved. Make sure to use Hashtag: #HelpTheWorldSee
