When I was asked if I wanted to try Shoeps, I was stoked! Liam is nine, and learned to tie his shoes in the last year. He has worked so hard with us and with his Occupational Therapist. He can do it, but they don’t stay tied for long. These new “laces” were perfect for him!
They are elastic laces, (made from silicone) that never have to be untied. They make any tied shoes into slip ons. These are perfect for special needs kids, or even the elderly, or disabled that struggle from bending too long, or arthritic fingers.
A few years ago, Liam became a brand ambassador for a similar product. Those laces were elastic, but the ends were just aglets. They would often snap out of the sneaker, and when they would, it would hurt like crazy! They helped with the tying situation at the time, but really were not that great. Shoeps are different! They go into your sneaker, wrap around, and attach to the back. The likelihood of them snapping off is slim to nil. Especially since they re made from high quality silicone. They stretch far and with ease as well.
You get 14 Shoeps in a package. That’s enough for TWO pairs of shoes! I put some in Liam’s sneakers and saved the rest for the new shoes he will be getting before fall. He loved them! He was able to get his shoes on and off with ease, and no embarrassment for him, struggling to tie shoes in front of other kids.
They gave my son freedom and peace of mind. They turned something complicated for him, into something of ease. He has pretty bad anxiety for a kid, so it’s nice to see him have one less thing to worry about. As a mom, I was very pleased with Shoeps.
Shoeps retail for $10 for a pack of 14. They come in a wide array of colors too! You can get them here!
