Use Bikini-Shaving Products

One of the biggest mistakes that a lot of girls make when shaving their downstairs area is to use standard razors. Although these razors can be great for shaving other areas such as your legs or even under your arms, they can be a bit tricky to maneuver around the bikini area because of their size. Because of this, they’re the most common reason why girls suffer from nicks and cuts – something that you really don’t want around such a delicate part of your body. Using a specially designed bikini trimmer or bikini razors will keep you out of any danger of accidentally cutting yourself.

Using Shaving Cream

Shaving any part of your body without using shaving cream or similar is one of the most common culprits for shaving rash, which can be itchy and unsightly. The last thing that you want is for your bikini area to be covered in little red bumps, so make sure that you use a shaving cream to keep the skin moisturized. You might want to use soap as an alternative, however, be aware that thick shower gels, rather than bar soaps are often the best choice for this job – the more lather they produce, the better. Another trick is to use hair conditioner – so long as it is gentle on skin and won’t irritate your skin down there – as it’s of a thicker constituency and therefore acts more like a shaving cream than soap.

Use a Mirror

One of the worst things about shaving your bikini area is that sometimes, it’s impossible to see exactly what you’re doing. Because of this, it’s a lot easier to end up nicking yourself or cutting your skin with the razor. Using a mirror can help you to get a better shave as not only will you be able to see exactly what you’re doing, you can also make sure that you haven’t missed any spots.

Whether you’re just shaving your bikini line or plan to give yourself a full Brazilian, it’s important to make sure that you are safe and all the steps are taken to ensure that your skin isn’t irritated or cut. Using the right products and ensuring that your skin is moisturized with shaving cream or soap beforehand will definitely give you the best shave.
