Women of all ages come in different shapes and sizes. When preparing for your daughter’s wedding you may be overwhelmed with the notion of buying a gown for the occasion if you have a larger build. There are plenty of plus size mother of the bride dresses that will make you look fabulous during the special occasion.
Formal wear has never been more kind to the healthy lady. As we get older, wiser and a little wider we begin to feel a little down about our newer, thicker shapes. Instead of fighting your heavier side you should embrace it. Many plus size mother of the bride dresses are flattering and tasteful and they celebrate the fuller figure.
I was a wreck when my daughter announced that she and her fiancé were having a very short engagement. The first thing that popped into my mind was the image of my self in an unflattering gown. Given that they were getting married in a manner of months I knew that my only option was plus size mother of the bride dresses. The only problem is that I didn’t know what to expect.
Since I didn’t know what to expect, I expected the worst. There was not nearly enough time for me to lose the extra weight that I had gained during menopause and I really didn’t like the idea of taking weight loss pills, either. I just didn’t want my family to be embarrassed of me.
I also dreaded the idea of trying on plus size mother of the bride dresses. I know how awful bridesmaid dresses can be. Some of these formal gowns are hideous even on slim girls. There was no way that a plus size mother of the bride gown was going to be any better. In fact, I figured that it would be way worse.
Boy was I wrong. There are so many magnificent plus size mother of the bride dresses on the market that I had trouble picking just one. The very first gown I tried fit wonderfully and it was really flattering. I tried on gown after gown but I was still drawn to my initial choice.
Needless to say, I chose my first pick and I was so comfortable and happy during the ceremony and well into the reception. I am just thrilled that formal wear has begun to embrace the older, wider woman along with their young counterparts. The wedding was spectacular and for the first time I truly felt comfortable in my own skin.
