February 14th, is just around the corner. While you’re busy shopping for your loved ones, don’t forget about your four legged babies! Today I’m going to share some recipes so you can make them some doggie treats at home. They’re cheaper, and better yet, you know what’s in them! So grab an apron, a glass of wine, and let’s get baking.

Recipe 1 Bayleigh’s Bones

What you’ll need

  • 1 cup of applesauce (sugar free is best)
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • flour (approximately 2 cups)

Preheat your oven to 350° and grab some cookie cutters (Wilton makes a great pooch set!)

Whisk your egg, and then add applesauce and peanut butter. Mix well and begin adding flour. Start with a cup. (I’m a throw together baker so I didn’t actually measure this part. If you’re familiar with baking cut out cookies, you’ll be able to eye this part. You just want to add enough to make the mixture like a play doh consistency.)

Once your dough is thick enough to be rolled out, sprinkle flour on your work surface and begin rolling. You can use your hands too. Once the dough is about 1/4″ thick, cut out the cookies. Place them on a GREASED sheet, and bake for 20 minutes. (If you want a crunchier treat, go ahead and bake longer.)

That’s it. Easy right? Now just store the treats in an air tight container. They will last a couple weeks, and I guarantee your furry friend will love them!

Recipe 2 Pumpkin Spice PAWsome Treats

What you’ll need

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp of cinnamon
  • 1 egg

Pictured are ingredients and the bones before baking.

Preheat your oven to 350° and grease your cookie sheet.

Next, whisk your egg, and add in pumpkin and cinnamon. Gradually add in your flour. Roll out on floured surface, until about 1/4 inch thick. Place on sheet and bale for 25 to 30 minutes. Can be stored in air tight container for a couple of weeks.

I hope your fur babies loves these treats as much as mine do. My girls can’t enough of them! From our home to yours, Happy Valentine’s Day!

Josie and Bayleigh give BOTH treats TWO PAWS UP!!!!
