For me, the best part of planning a party is getting and making the decorations. Once I have a theme in mind, I’m unstoppable. Whether you’re decorating for a wedding, baby shower, anniversary or holiday, here are some of my tips.

A Party isn’t a Party Without Decorations

Decorating can be so much fun, and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg either. You can throw a fantastic party without breaking the bank on decorations. Part of that is doing it yourself. Here are some of my favorite ideas for getting a space ready for an event.

Balloons, Lanterns, Garland and more

A great way to instantly add some decorative flair to a party is with balloons, lanterns, and garland. However, if you go about buying all of these separately you may go over your budget. That’s why I love Decopom. They have all of these and more in a convenient bundle. You get thirty-seven pieces of decor to liven up any soiree.

I love to hang my paper lanterns, pom poms, and honeycomb balls with four-pound test fishing line. It makes them look like they are floating in thin air and adds a touch of magic to any celebration.

Table or Buffet Decor

One of my favorite ways to decorate tables or the buffet is with centerpieces. My go to store for these is the Dollar Tree. (We love that store, it’s one of our favorites.) I go right to the glassware, and purchase wine glass and goblets. They always have different colors so you can match most any occasion. Then, head to the faux flowers area. (Unless your budget has room for fresh!) Don’t forget some tea light candles.

On the day of your gathering, clip off your favorite flowers, place them on the table, and put your wine glass or goblet on top of them. Then add a tea light to the top, and voila, instant centerpieces. Group them together, and place some petals around them too. If flowers aren’t your thing, you can even opt for battery-powered tea lights under the glass, and regular ones on top.
