As a child we loved the cat in the hat, we couldn’t get enough of all the Dr. Suess books. As my kids were little, they would like for me, to read them these great books that I grew up on. Now there are all kinds of new and exciting books out about, the cat in the hat.
Devon still loves for me to read to him. So when I find an awesome book I pick it up and add it to his collection. The Cat In The Hat, Oh Say Can You Say Whats The Weather, is a cute book to add to his already growing collection.
In this book, the rhymes are crisp and interesting. Some of the concepts introduced/covered include meteorologists, weather maps, clouds, evaporation, condensation, snow, rain, thunder, lightning, tornadoes, and climatology.
The Cat and company travel by hot air balloon up and into various weather phenomena including rain, snow, thunder, tornadoes, and (yikes!) even hurricanes! Along the way they learn about thermometers, anemometers, wind vanes, cloud formations, humidity, fog, smog, weather folklore, and how to stay safe in lightning. Written and illustrated in Seussian style, this a great addition to the Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library!
A great book for children to understand while learning about the weather, and we have a ball reading it. The rhyming sentences impart lots of new information for kids in a delightful way. I liked this book because it talked about everything weather. It talked about precipitation and it talked about various instruments used to forecast the weather. Helping us to teach Devon something new, he enjoys all books and tries to read them with me.
While going on a journey in a hot air balloon, The Cat in the Hat and two children encounter many different kinds of weather. Imagine you being in that hot air balloon. And learning about the weather like those kids. It would be so much fun. We loved this book and cant wait for the next one.
