I just got the most adorable children’s book! It’s called Odd Sockosaurus by Zanib Mian and Bill Bolton. This book won the Five Star Readers’ Favorite award. For good reason too! Whether or not you’re already a fan of dinosaurs, you will be after reading this great story.
The story is about a six year old boy. We never really know his real name, because he goes by many names. For example, on the days where he is asking so many questions, he goes by “Whyceratops.” I think all of our children resemble this “dinosaur” at some point. Maybe for some, a little too often. (I don’t miss the “but why” stage.) When he runs real fast in the park, or rides his scooter fast, then he is “Fastosaurus Rex!” The little boy in the story likes to clean, and when he does, he’s known as “Tidyosaurus!” I wish that would rub off on my son! I guess I’m more of a Tidysosaurus than my son is!
Liam loved this book. It was really cute. He really related to the boy when he was “Nevertiredophus.” He said, “Mama! That must be what I am!” He’s also “Loudatrops,” as he never has an indoor voice, unless he loses it from screaming. After Trick or Treat he informed me he was “Hungryophus,” and his “preferred meal” was CANDY! Shocker, right?
So whether your child is a “Readabookadocus,” and loves to read, or is like my Liam, and loves to be read to, this book would make a great addition to your book shelf. You can find yourself a copy at the Sweet Apple Publishers website. You can follow them on Facebook too. I also found Odd Sockosaurus at The Book Depository for $7.92
