Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Woohoo. We’ve made it to the holidays. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see my family and celebrate and eat lots of turkey. Anyway…
I’ve recently discovered New York Color BB cream and powder knew I had to share it with you guys. Everyone is searching for that holiday glow, and this foundation is sure to cover all your basic needs for effortless beauty. I’ve created a look utilizing three New York Color products and extra essentials for a glam holiday makeover. The before picture is really rough, but wait until you see the after. 🙂
Here I spy my naked face prior to using anything. Recently, my skin has been really broken out and it’s been awful. I’ve got red bumps and mismatching tone and there’s nothing I need more than a life-saving foundation. Luckily, New York Color sent me 2 foundations and one powder to fix my flaws.
This 5 in 1 BB Cream is amazing. It applies really smoothly, and was even all over my face. I applied more to areas where I had any acne, and concentrated around the bags under my eyes (writers don’t sleep, people). It enhanced my complexion and provided me with a dewy glow. The cream also felt really moisturizing, but didn’t make me look shiny. My skin instantly looked a lot more even and brighter. I adored what this product did for me.
The second cream I used was the Instant Matte 5 in 1 BB Cream. My pores were significantly minimized, and as a person with oily skin, it reduced the shininess on my face. I adored how effortless the application was; it was really soft and light and evenly applied all over my face. The foundation didn’t cake up either; instead, it seemed to blend in with my skin rather than sit on top of it. It made my skin look hydrated and healthy.
I topped off the foundation with NYC Radiance BB Powder. This was a shade darker than my skin, so I treated it more like a bronzer. I applied it on top of my foundation, across my neck, and over my ears so I was the same color. It applied really well, and had a shiny glamorous glow. I looked more tan and my skin was even… it also set my foundation in place, promising it wouldn’t melt off anywhere.
Oh, God. The pictures are just getting rougher and rougher. This was what I looked like after I put on my foundation and powder though. See? I told you it smooths out skin and reduces redness and bumps. It also makes my skin look… well, even. I appreciated it. Then I shaded in my eyebrows and put on some eyeshadow.
The first secret to any glamorous look is flawless skin. The second is nice eyebrows… and the third is killer eyeshadow. To achieve this, I took a dark eyeshadow and filled in my brows. I personally like the thicker brow look, so I make them dark, but you can fill them in however you prefer and whatever looks best. As for my eyeshadow, I started with a light, shimmery cream base. Then, I applied a darker shimmery cream base around the crease of my eye. I then applied a bright golden color around the inner corner of my eye, dark maroon color in the center of my eye, and black around the outer corner. I blended it all together and voila. As for my favorite part of any makeup routine, I then grabbed my liquid eyeliner and went crazy.
The more eyeliner, the better. Or at least that’s how I look at things. Eyeliner is my favorite part and sometimes I have too much fun with it. But for this look, I wanted to keep it more elegant. I made a thin(ish) line across my eyelid, and swooped it into a wing. With pencil eyeliner, I then filled in my waterline. Then it was time for mascara.
I wanted to use fake eyelashes for this look, but I didn’t have any. Also, all my money is going towards saving for Christmas shopping so I couldn’t buy any. But I think I did a pretty good job of lengthening my eyelashes. The goal was to have really long, thick eyelashes to draw a lot of attention to the eyes. Most of my makeup looks are this way; I love eyes, and I love focusing my makeup around them. Another thanks to the BB creams for getting rid of dark circles and bags and making my eyes look so much brighter.
What’s a “fall/winter” look without dark lipstick? I used a plum/maroon color to complete this look, and was stoked with the results. This was so much fun to play around with, and I adored the results. Hopefully you guys will have fun replicating the results and try it out as well.
