There is no doubt that Melissa McCarthy can act. She really knows how to deliver her lines. Peggy, the mother in law is so well cast she steals the show at times. The creators have surrounded the main characters with a good cast who do a fine job of supporting the storyline. This cast is the funniest since Friends, Cheers, Golden Girls, and other shows of that caliber. Funny, Funny, Funny! Melissa, Billy and the whole cast are hilarious. They each bring something unique to the show.
