I have visited a few places outside of my own country but have never been to Asian countries. Recently, my friends and I have been getting together and some of us have expressed interest in making a holiday trip to Southeast Asia countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Myanmar. We have heard of lone traveler being mugged or stranded in a foreign land, so it is safer and more fun to travel as a group than as a lone traveler.

Initially, we couldn’t decide on which country to visit. We need to do some homework, searching online for information and comparing of notes and rates of flight and hotels. Since we all prefer to have a free and easy holiday at our own leisure, there is a lot of homework involved to better prepare and equip ourselves when we reach our destination.

We all came to an agreement that for now, Malaysia will be the best choice for our holiday destination because the currency conversion rate is to our advantage. It helps to stretch our budget. We have heard so much about Malaysia in the news lately. For those of us who have not visited Malaysia, we have both heard and read that Malaysia is a beautiful and an affordable holiday destination. Malaysia is known for her unique Malaysian culture and exotic food. Many are attracted to her rich history and natural attractions. These attractions include popular islands and beaches, tropical rainforests and lust highlands.

From the brochures, we read that Malaysia enjoys a tropical or equatorial climate, which is hot and humid throughout the year. There are popular islands and beaches with their crystal clear waters, and beautiful coral reefs offer diving and snorkeling activities for holiday makers. Some of the best islands to visit are Pulau Pangkor), Sipadan, Pulau Redang, Pulau Tioman, Langkawi, just to name a few.

Other places of interest are Penang (Pearl of Orient), Kuala Lumpur, Malacca (Melaka), Taman Negara, Gunung Mulu National Park, etc. There are also Cameron Highlands, Fraser’s Hill and Genting Highlands for those who wants to relax and enjoy the cool mountain air. Wow! We are really getting excited just reading about all these wonderful places to visit. Besides places, there is also the exotic food to try. I have visited some Malaysian food blogs and the food they posted about never fails to stir my imagination of how the food will taste like. Malaysia has a mixture of various ethnic groups and boasts of her uniquely Malaysian cuisine that attracts tourists from far and near.

I have written so much about Malaysia that I almost forgot about our flight and hotel bookings. In order to avoid repeating some past disappointing experiences, we decided to try Traveloka Malaysia which was recommended to us by a friend. Traveloka Malaysia provides flight booking options to filter our flight plans to suit our requirements. It also has a price range option for those who are on tight budget or wanting to minimize their expenses. By the way, if you are planning for a vacation in Langkawi, I suggest that you book a car in advance. This is because it is more convenient when you are in Langkawi. Not sure how to book a car? I highly recommend you to rent a car in Langkawi here. This is one of the car rental agency that provides a wide range of vehicles that will meet your needs at an affordable price.

Traveloka enables travelers to select airlines they are familiar and comfortable with and also to select the flight hours convenient to them. This site also enables hotel bookings alongside the flight booking. Selection of the hotel can be filtered according to facilities e.g. swimming pool, wifi, shopping, etc. According to our search for a hotel in a suitable location, we have decided to book book Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Hotel for our stay in the capital city. It is important to check out the nearby attractions e.g. places of worship, shopping, local food paradise and tourist attractions for conveniences. Those wishing to enjoy special hotel rates can sign up as members. Traveloka assures that their prices are honest without any hidden charges or taxes.
