Are you trying to make your home look amazing on the outside? I have this dream of getting my home’s exterior magazine ready, but this is going to take some work. I wanted to share some tips for making your home’s exterior magazine ready.

How to Make Your Home's Exterior Magazine Ready

Give your home authentic character

When getting our home’s exterior ready, it comes down to giving our home the authentic character it deserves. Using the James Hardie® curated collection, it’s easy to choose the color, profiles, textures, and widths that we’d like. One thing that we will be using is the HardieShingle® siding they offer. It is known as North American’s #1 brand for siding. Of course, using HardieSoffit® panels and HardieTrim® boards can help your home look even more authentic on the outside as well.

Choose a color

One of the fun parts about doing the outside of your home is choosing a color your love. What I appreciate most about the James Hardie® collection is that they have the colors to help the outside of your home look fantastic. The Advanced ColorPlus® can help you achieve that instant curb appeal that you have been searching for. The colors are baked into each board, which means it is weather ready and will last for many years to come. Choosing a color is easy when you know it’s going to last for a long while.

Go with one brand

When choosing to do the outside of your home, you want to stick with one brand. I chose to stick with James Hardie® products because I knew they would be consistent with the quality. Each product is Engineered for Climate®. I love that can withstand the elements.

  • Stands up to storms and harsh weather
  • Water resistant to protect against swelling, warping, and cracking; also resists damage from mold.
  • Won’t be eaten by animals or insects
  • More fire resistant than wood or vinyl siding
  • ColorPlus® Technology finishes can add years of unrivaled color performance
  • Helps reduce time and money spent on maintenance as compared to wood or wood-based siding

Using the James Hardie® line of products also means that they stand behind their products. Their siding is backed up 100% for 30 years and trim is backed up 100% for 15 years. You don’t get better coverage than that. When choosing what products to use for making your home’s exterior magazine ready, I think you know who’s worth using.

It really is fun to choose exterior color IF you get it right. If you pick a wrong color, oy boy it eats at you until you change it. :)

Those are stunning home exteriors! I feel like paint does such a difference on the outside - particularly when you use colors aside from white. This makes me want to repaint my home!
