Loose Tooth Trouble is a new book by Melissa Bixby, and illustrated by Adam Barney. Liam was excited to dive into this book, and actually read some of it to me.
The main character Bobby has a loose tooth. But it hurts every time he wiggles it. He knows it needs to come out, but how can he pull it if it hurts so badly? The book follows his journey of losing this tooth. Some of the suggestions that others offer to help him lose it are quite funny. Which reminds me of the time my dad decided he would tie string to my loose tooth and a door knob. He was almost ready to slam the door and I started screaming. Needless to say the door didn’t pull my tooth that day.
The illustrations are great. Very detailed, and also comical. They match the story line perfectly, and are great for the kids who aren’t as visually imaginative as some. Liam loved the pics. Especially the one **SPOILER ALERT** where Bobby’s tooth is tied to a rocket ship! He thought that was just hysterical.
This book would be perfect for your younger children who are on, or will be on, their own loose tooth journey. For many kids, losing a part of them is a scary process. I think this book is a great way to help relieve some of that stress for them.
Dentists? This book is for you! I think every dentist office should have a copy of this book, for their younger patients. Perfect way for a parent to relax them before their cleaning or other dental procedures. Liam wants to give his copy to his dentist office. I think that’s a great idea. Nothing like the gift of reading.
