Disney’s adventure The Lion Guard continues with Simba and Nala’s (from the classic The Lion King) second-born cub, Kion, and his Lion Guard team as they protect the Circle of Life! Follow our group of unlikely heroes: Bunga the honey badger, Fuli the cheetah, Beshte the hippo and Ono the egret. Join this heroic band as they use their unique abilities to protect the Pride Lands and maintain the Circle of Life. This series also features Simba, the spirit of Mufasa and the hilarious antics of Timon and Pumbaa. You’ll go wild for all the ferocious fun, because whether the Lion Guard team is tracking a rogue leopard, foiling tricky jackals or facing stubborn crocodiles, Life In The Pride Lands is always “hevi kabisa” – totally intense!
We have loved Lion King since it came out , and with new ones coming out all the time we have a selection to watch. Devon gets a kick out of these as much as I enjoy watching them with him. This one is full of adventure and fun. The shorts make good education for the youngsters as well. Now without further ado here are the episodes and my take on them.
The Rise of Makuu (episode 2): A young Crocodile Makuu (voice of Blair Underwood) wins a Mashindano fight that secures his leadership of the crocs over the old Pua. Unlike the more humble, diplomatic Pua, Makuu is stubborn, ruthless, and selfish which causes problems in the pridelands, forcing animals out of their habitat. This makes Kion search for a middle ground to deal with Makuu’s attitude, which takes the heavenly guidance of Mufasa
It’s the most peaceful time in the Pridelands where everyone celebrates their community and contribution. But some sly Jackals arrive to spoil the party with their malicious mischief. This is a solid episode that further backs up the theme of tolerance and community making it a good episode for adults as well, and the song “Jackal Style” will surely get stuck in your head for sure.
Join us as we watch and lose ourselves in another great Lion King movie.
