I have put together some tips that will help around your home. I have found them useful and I hope you do also.
*If glasses are stuck together, separate by filling the inside one with cold water and setting them both in hot water.
*Rub equal parts of linseed oil, white vinegar and turpentine into your furniture or wood with a soft cloth and much elbow grease to refinish antiques or revitalize your woods.
*To sharpen garbage disposal blades, try ice cubes.
*If you have ants in your pantry, use putty or petroleum jelly to seal off cracks where they are entering. Also try sprinkling red pepper on floors and counter tops.
*Raw rice in the salt shaker will keep salt free-flowing.
*Rub wax along sticky sliding doors, windows and drawers on their tracks.
*Toss dried orange or lemon rinds into the fireplace for a spicy aroma.
*For a copper bottom cookware polish, mix equal parts of flour and salt with vinegar to create your paste. Store the paste in the fridge.
*Boil a mixture of ½ cup vinegar and 1 quart water and submerge your clogged shower head.
*To remove starch deposits from an iron, put baking soda on a damp sponge and wipe on. The iron must be cold and unplugged.
*For wood furniture, use instant coffee. Make a thick paste from instant coffee and a little water. Then rub into the nicks and scratches on your dark word furniture. They’ll look new and beautiful!
*Add baking soda to remove stale odors in the wash.
*Use 2 denture cleaning tablets for Corning Ware. Just fill with water and put the tablets in. Let stand for 30-40 minutes.
*Combine 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons baking soda and ½ cup liquid bleach to clean Teflon. Boil in stained pan for 5-10 minutes or until the stain disappears. Wash, rinse, dry and condition with oil before using the pan again.
