As parents I feel like we are constantly striving to raise the most well mannered children that we can. But sometimes it can be a little frustrating when our children pick up bad manners from other children and/or adults. When I was sent the Kindness Kingdom game to review I was so excited to use it to reinforce the things I’ve taught them so far. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it is much more than a manners game!
When we received the game I could not wait to check it out. The game looked like to would be fun to play. The point of the game is to have fun and learn better manners.Kindness Kingdom is quite simply, a game of manners. The objective is to get to Queen Grace’s Tea Party. Teaching manners and kind behavior as you play!
A little information about the game:
Kindness Kingdom is the first board game from parent company Marvelously Well-Mannered; aimed at teaching young girls useful tips as they wander through the gemmed game path on the way to Queen Grace’s tea party. Proudly made in the USA, the board game is ideal for 2 to 4 players, for ages 5 and up. Not only do children develop social and emotional skills but thoughtfulness toward others. Once a winner is determined, players are requested to cheer on the remaining players until all youngsters reach the finish line, arriving at Queen Grace’s marvelous tea party. Subtle illustrations such as a princess seated in a wheelchair reinforce empathy, a much-needed skill for kids to combat teasing or worse, bullying. This game is a fun game to play where the players are taught the importance of everyday manners. They must follow the rules of etiquette as they travel through the eight neighborhoods in Kindness Kingdom.
As you move through the board with the R.S.V.P cards, you’ll stop at the neighborhoods and answer questions about everyday manners. Each time you get the answer correct you collect a cute charm for your bracelet. This is a really cute idea. They collect the charms, so they can wear the bracelet to the upcoming tea party. You answer and collect, until you collect the last charm the “key to the Golden Gate of Golden Rule”. Whoever fills their charm bracelet first could be considered the winner. Players are encouraged to cheer everyone on until the very end! The game is easy to understand, and a great time to play. I loved that they have a princess seated in a wheelchair, showing everyone can be a princess.
Not only is this game fun and very original just in terms of how it is played, but the real reward of picking up real-life values that your children will use throughout their lives is the best! I highly recommend Kindness Kingdom. If you are looking for a way to teach your little girl manners, this is a fun way to do it.
