Kicking Horse Coffee Review And Giveaway

The Kicking Horse Coffee sent me a can of their Kick Ass Dark/Corse Coffee to try. When it arrived I knew it was the coffee because of the way the box sounded. Since their coffee is whole bean only you know you are getting the freshest coffee each morning. I was impressed that it still comes in a metal can that is 100% Recyclable! The metal can also helps keep your coffee fresher longer. Nothing better to get up in the morning and drink a nice fresh ground cup of coffee.

Kicking Horse, is a Canadian company that only uses Organic Fair Trade Arabica beans. So they make great-tasting coffee and they make it responsibly. I love that! And the beans are roasted just right.

Kicking Horse started in 1996 in Elana Rosenfeld and Leo Johnson started roasting coffee in their garage.  They are no longer roasting coffee in the garage but still located in Invermere. Kicking Horse Coffee is now Canada’s #1 organic Fair Trade coffee. Kicking Horse Coffee offers a wide variety of different blends of organic Fair Trade coffee, organic Fair Trade Indian Chai and loads of other great items. Try ‘em all! They’re delicious!

Coffee is the largest cash crop in the world, and also the second largest traded commodity. Kicking Horse Coffee participates in Fair Trade by paying farmers fair price regardless of the world market.  Kicking Horse Coffee only roast certified organic coffee.  There coffee is shade grown and they use the best coffees grown in the world.

The Kick Ass is a Dark Roast coffee which has a strong taste but it is great. Three words that describe this coffee perfectly are: Sweet, Smoky and Audacious!! It has a very palatable and robust taste with no bitter aftertaste. Kick Ass is a smooth tasting coffee and it definitely a coffee drinkers coffee. It is organic and free trade which makes it even better in my opinion.

The coffee tasted great, it says “extreme bold” on the outside of the can. I was a bit worried that it would mean that the coffee would be super-strong, or loaded with caffeine. Neither was the case, the flavor was full, but only subtly bold by my standards.

Usually Maxwell House. But we are always trying new varieties for our Keurig and mainly use the maxwell house as backup!

We have a couple of brands that we stick with. We’ve been drinking Folgers for years, so it’s hard to let it go. We now have found out we LOVE Tully’s and Caribou coffees. I would be happy to try Kick Ass coffee. We love our coffee dark, full bodied and usually go for the French Roasts.
