If you’re anything like me, then walking into kitchen appliance stores is like taking a stroll through dreamland.
I can go through aisles and justify any accessory or appliance purchase. It comes with my love for cooking and how every product can be deemed as usable, convenient and necessary.
But wait, there’s a potential problem with this.
Flatware, small appliances and miscellaneous accessories… I like to collect them all. Safe to say though, that my kitchen goods tend to pile up. It was quick for me to recognize this problem, so I found a way to organize my kitchen using some nifty tricks.
Even if you’re not one to hoard kitchen products, the following tips can make cooking a well-organized activity.
Keep Your Kitchen Organized With These Tricks
Arrange plates and flatware based on use. Organize everyday objects should be on lower shelves. Fine china and other special occasion items should be stored higher up in your cabinets.
Make Use of Containers
Save pantry space by using containers for food items like cereal, flour and sugar. Packaging can get rather bulky. If you pour everything in identical containers, it can help create more room in your kitchen.
Take a step back and analyze your kitchen. If you look up, is there potential to maximize unused space? Many people install shelves just above their cabinets for storage use. Sometimes, there’s even enough room between your ceiling and cabinet top and you can utilize the area for decorative bowls and cookbooks.
Make Use of Sticky Hooks
Sticky hooks are a top solution for anyone’s organization needs. I like to place them in the inside of cabinet doors so I can hang small bags, tea towels, etc.
Do you ever place items so far back in your cabinets that they become nearly impossible to reach? I use Lazy Susans (a.k.a rotating trays) to make everything in my kitchen accessible.
