Keep Baby Safe From Sun This Summer

Spring is here and summer will be here before we know it. If you have a baby or little ones, it’s time to get ready for the sun. Here are some tips are keeping your babies safe from those harmful rays.

Keep Baby Safe From Sun

Protecting our skin from harmful rays is important. I know first hand as I watched my husband under go several surgeries to remove skin cancer from his face. However, since babies skin is more sensitive than ours, we have to be careful with what we use, and how we protect it. Here are some tips to help, but first let’s talk about the sun.

The Sun is Strong

Actually between the hours of ten in the morning until four in the afternoon the suns rays are the strongest. Also, keep in mind that many surfaces will reflect the sun, and could potentially burn baby’s sweet skin. Water, concrete, sand and more will reflect those rays, so be sure to keep that in mind.

Cover up

One way to protect your baby’s skin is to cover them up. If you’re going to be using a stroller, try getting a shade with built-in UV protection. If you’re headed to the beach, find a tent to help keep baby out of the sun. Many outdoor sun tents have built-in UV protection as well.

Clothing

First of all, we know that light-colored clothing reflects the suns rays, and will keep us cooler, so dress baby in lighter clothes. Also, many clothing manufacturers make swim wear for babies and children with sun protection built-in. Don’t forget a hat! It will protect your angel’s head and face.

Sunblock

Okay, so all of us should be using sun block. However, babies should be using sun block geared to them because their skin is so sensitive. Babytime! has sunblock just for your little ones. As a matter of fact, it’s pediatrician recommended for ages ZERO and up! It’s enriched with green tea and aloe, water-resistant for eighty minutes, and it’s even Gluten Free!
