Today I want to talk to you about another book idea for those on your holiday gift list. Just Believe – Stories of Inspiration is a collection of short stories to inspire youths and adults alike.
Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is, how we remain an artist once we grow up.” Rosemarie Monaco, the author of Just Believe says that idea has always haunted her. She asks, “What happens to us? Why do we stop believing in magic? Why do we banish the artist?” These ideas inspired this collection of short stories.
The goal of these stories is more than just to entertain, or help us pass some time. They’re to help inspire and awaken the child in all of us. To return us to a place where anything is possible. Where all you have to do is dream to make it happen. We all know that magic doesn’t truly exist. Magic is merely your inner power, making your dreams come true.
Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you make anything happen.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I poured through this book late one night when insomnia had attacked me. I loved all of the short stories within, but I think maybe my favorite was the section of Dog Wisdom. (Anyone who knows me, knows how much I adore fur babies.)
Some of the best parts, “You don’t have to ask. If you give love, you’ll get lots in return.”
“Howling is good for the soul. Express yourself.”
“We can all get along, even we don’t always see eye to eye.”
These quotes are so amazing and so true. I feel they are words that we need to ingrain into our children, so that they can pass them onto theirs.
