Being safe is important for every family. It can be hard to think of all the little dangers that may be a hazard to your children. Adults usually know when something is harmful to them. Children have to learn from their parents, and when they are toddlers they don’t exactly listen. Here are some tips to get your safe for your children.
Pack Away Poisons
We love to keep a clean house, and with a clean house comes the use of household cleaners. Cleaners are great for scrubbing away the mess your toddler made after dinner, but can be deadly to them if the decide to drink it because of the pretty colors. It is your job to secure all of the chemicals in your house. Many people naturally keep their chemicals under the sink. It is easy and convenient to keep them there. It is just a reach away from any kitchen mess. It is also an easy spot for a kid to grab and drink them.
If you decide to keep the chemicals under the sink, find a way to keep the doors closed from kids. There are many products out there to help you keep them out. You can try out child locks that toddlers cannot figure out, but are easy for you to open. The best solution is to probably just find a new spot for your kitchen cleaning supplies. Try out putting them in the laundry room in a high up cabinet. High up where a child cannot reach is probably the best bet for keeping your child safe from household chemicals.
Make Hard Corners Safe
Toddlers are not the best at staying on their feet. They often tumble and are rather clumsy. It can be cute to watch them grow and learn how to handle their bodies, but it is your job to make the environment they are in as safe as possible. We have many tables and corners within our home that protrude out in their path. A hyped up kid with lots of energy might not notice where they are going when they are having fun. This can lead to them falling and hitting their head on the edge of a table. In order to keep them as safe as possible, consider buying rubber edges that attach to your corners. These will cushion your child’s fall so that they do not get heavily inured by a sharp edge on their head.
Monitor Alone Time
Many home security systems allow you to keep watch over any room in your home with security cameras. If you have Denton home security, then you can install cameras that can allow you to watch live feed right from your phone. This is great for watching over a toddle at bedtime. You will know if they get up and decide to play with their toys. You can also monitor if they start doing something unsafe in their room. It is a great way to stay in control while letting them have alone time at bed time. Keep your child safe and your mind at ease.
