My husband and I were born and raised in the country. Just like anywhere you live, it has its pros and its cons, but all in all, it’s a great place to raise a family. Which is what we’re doing. So when Kelly asked me if I wanted a copy of the book I’m a Country Gopher for Liam, and I was happy to say yes.
I’m a Country Gopher
This adorable paperback, children’s book tells the story of Country Gopher and his family. It depicts the ebb and flow of country life for this family, such as finding food, evading predators, and taking time out of life to have some good old-fashioned fun.
Kids will love the precious animal characters. The illustrations by Ben Richards are detailed and precious. Your children will love pouring over the pages to see all that Ben has included in the images. Liam loves them, as he loves all things animal, critter, or otherwise.
About the Author
Stephen Foss is a researcher, writer, blogger, and public speaker. Steve and his wife Sandra have been married for over thirty-five years, and have two grown daughters. He says that some of the best memories made during the years of their childhood, happened during story time. “I’m a Country Gopher,” was a story that was originally sung to their girls and their friends, as well as to hundreds of other children through out the years. (Now, it’s a book for you to enjoy with your children.)
Stephen Foss and Tony McMehan created the song to teach their kids the importance of spending time together as a family, and also eating a healthy diet. Both are lessons that many of us strive to instill in our children as well.
