How to Throw an Epic Disney Playdate

Most of you know that I’m a mama to four kids, which is a playdate in itself. Our family just finished up foster care classes, which means we’re on our way to growing to be an even bigger family. I decided to throw our #DisneyKids Playdate for my kids as a celebration. I felt like a lot of attention had been taken off them the last few weeks. For the other moms with big families, here’s how you throw an epic #DisneyKids playdate!

Have the kids make a list of everything missing

To ensure my oldest felt involved, I had him help make a list of everything we still needed. At first, he was apprehensive, but then he joined in. I think he had fun making the list. I asked the other kids for some suggestions as well. Mostly they thought of things like punch and snacks.

Go shopping for the extras

Disney sent us an awesome box of goodies to have a playdate, but we still had some things to pick up. We headed to our local Dollar Store because I like to be frugal where I can. For less than $20, I picked up some great Disney decor and we were set for our party! I loved the Mickey Mouse place mats we found, plus the red balloons, and red table cloth. It was so easy to pick Disney themed items!

Let the kids help set up

This was a challenge for me because I wanted to do everything myself, but the kids wanted to help. I had to step back and let them have fun too! They helped put the food out and decorate. I knew it didn’t need to be perfect. Because perfect in their eyes is different than perfect in my eyes. I really learned how to let go while setting up for our Disney Playdate!

Enjoy the party/playdate!

I think the key to having an epic #DisneyKids playdate is to let the kids have fun. I let them eat, drink juice,  dance to music, and play with their balloons. These are the memories they will carry with them forever. We danced, ate, and had so much fun!

Thank you to Disney for sending us the awesome party items. My kids had fun and I look forward to talking to them about it for many more weeks to come!

I received Disney items for our 2017 Disney Playdate in exchange for my honest opinion.
