Whenever I have the chance to make a healthy snack for my children, I get it excited. Pumping them up with chips and cookies have become the norm, so giving them something healthy makes me feel like a good mom.
Dandies Vegan Marshmallows from Chicago Vegan Foods are an excellent source of “good for you” snacking. These soft, white puffs of deliciousness taste just like any other marshmallows on supermarket shelves except they’re filled with better ingredients. What makes them so different? Well besides the healthy ingredients, they are made with zero animal product.
Dandies are also:
- NON GMO
- Gluten free
My favorite thing about these marshmallows is the list of ingredients. I know that’s a weird thing to say, but one way to be assured that a food is good for you is when you can actually understand the ingredients. Dandies are made of:
- Tapioca Syrup
- Cane Sugar
- Tapioca Starch
- Filtered Water
- Soy Protein
- Natural Vanilla Flavor
Dandies Vegan Marshmallows are perfect for making smores or for roasting over a fire. We decided to make Rice Krispy treats with ours.
1 10oz package of Dandies Marshmallows
3 tbsp Butter
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- Spray a 13×9 inch pan with cooking spray.
- Melt butter in a large pot
- Stir in the Dandies Marshmallows until completely melted. Remove from heat
- Pour in cereal, stir until completely mixed.
- When finished, scoop mixture into the pan. Smooth top over evenly.
- Slice into squares and enjoy!
Unfortunately, my kids gobbled them up before I could get a good picture of the finished product. But you know what they say, if you’ve seen one rice krispy treat, you’ve seen them all. Well no one actually says that, but you understand what I mean.
