When you think of Halloween, you automatically think of decorations, costumes, and all that candy you will either hand out, or your children will bring home. This year I think I will do a little spin on Halloween, instead of just handing out candy, I will also hand out other items. Below is a few items I have in mind.
TEMPORARY TATTOOS AND STICKERS
I know my children loved to receive stickers and temporary tattoos. What’s great is that handouts like these will allow for some trading and collecting. Kids love to collect items, and I know stickers are a huge win!
Oh, how I loved my yo-yo and I know kids still love to play with them! They can provide hours of entertainment, and it’s something that kids can use over and over again (unlike candy that only really lasts a few days/weeks – depending on how much they eat over time). As a matter of fact, any pocket toys make great Halloween handouts: whistles, a small slinky, miniature Rubik’s cube, etc.
Alternative snacks like Snyder’s of Hanover®
Snyder’s of Hanover® has Halloween-themed peanut-free pretzels guaranteed not to scare kids away this season? The Snyder’s of Hanover Halloween Snack Packs retail for around $4.99 and include 24 of the 0.5 oz. Individual bags of mini pretzels. Who doesn’t love pretzels? I know my kids do and honestly, with all the allergies children have, I think these make a better option. I know Halloween is all about fun and candy, but it should also have a healthier option as well.
