Hair Transplant Or Hair Replacement

For people with thinning hair problem or facing baldness, they can opt for surgical hair transplant or for hair replacement system. Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that is carried out under local anesthetic to numb the scalp. Hair is harvested from elsewhere on the patient’s body by removing and transplanting each hair follicle onto the bald patch on the scalp.

Hair transplant has its share of risks e.g. risk of infection and complication. There may be pain and discomfort following hair transplant and some may have to take medication for the pain. There is also no guarantee that the hair transplant will be 100% successful and the end result may not be what you expected. Hair transplant is much more expensive than hair replacement systems. Many are worried about the danger of anesthesia and to avoid all the risk and pain, patients can choose the non-surgical hair replacement systems.

Today’s hair replacement systems are very natural looking and not easily detectable compared to the traditional ones. Hair replacement is much cheaper than hair transplant which involves surgery. Hair replacement system is not permanent, it can be replace anytime if the first one doesn’t fit well. With hair replacement, you get a dramatic new look within a short time and you get to change new styles and look. For the hair replacement systems, you can either choose the lace hair replacement systems or the mono systems.

Lace system is made from the most natural base material. The weaving method leaves plenty of breathing room for the scalp. The lace material is light weight, delicate and is not so durable or lasting. The lace material easily stretch and damage through frequent removal and re-attachment. The lace system can only hold medium density compared to the mono hair replacement systems. Mono system is made from stronger material. It is more durable which is more value for your money. Mono can hold high density but it has less breathing room for the sweaty scalp.

I think hair replacement is better than transplant. It's a good way to ensure that it looks more real! Maybe that's what I should look into, since I'm getting a bald spot.
