Graeters Ice Cream Makes Mother’s Day Special!
Graeter’s Ice Cream has been delighting tasters since 1868. A company started by Louis Graeter and his wife Regina, has been adamant about keeping quality the same no matter how much ice cream they make. Graeter’s use 2 gallon french pots to produce each batch of ice cream. This tradition has survived years of mass production and even today they are the only ice cream producer that only makes each wonderful spoonful of ice cream in a 2 gallon batch. They are producing ice cream around the clock to keep up with demand but the taste tells the story. Taste is important and every bite is sure to speak for itself.
Mother’s day is approaching. We here at Kelly’s thoughts on Things have a Mother’s Day Gift Guide if you need any ideas for what to buy your mom. I know the common tradition on Mother’s is to take mom out to dinner. We used to do that, but now with all these restaurants allowing take out, it is so much fun to pick up dinner and enjoy it in the comforts of home. That is what we do now. We order a nice lunch, pick it up and take it home to enjoy with the whole family relaxing in the living room. It is great not to have anything to clean up and even more wonderful to have quality time to celebrate as a family.
Dessert is included in our traditional Mother’s Day celebration. Graeters Ice Cream is a perfect choice to surprise my mom. I was thrilled with the chance to try it out and even more impressed when I read the history of how Graeter’s started. I love that each of the pints of ice cream is produced in small batches. This is clearly evident in the rich and creamy taste. I tried two different flavors and both were just delicious. I know my mom is going to love eating a bowl of ice cream that focus’ on quality.
First we tried the Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip. Yum!! Large pieces of pecans and huge chunks of chocolate swirl in a rich and creamy ice cream. I thought it was interesting that Graeter’s first batch of Chocolate Chip ice cream was because the younger son threw in a chocolate bar without Regina knowing about it.
Next I tried the Original Salted Caramel. Wow! This was my favorite only because I am such a fan of caramel! It is creamy and rich, salty and sweet and just a perfect balance of everything you want in an ice cream!
So spoil Mom this year and get her some ice cream that is churned in rich history and will melt her heart. What is your Mother’s Day Traditions?
