Have you ever wanted to try something new, and just have no idea what to make. Goya is a name you can trust, we love to use goya in everything we make. The history and story of Goya is as much about the importance of family and values as it is about achieving the American dream and helping to cultivate the Latin culture in the United States. In 1936, Don Prudencio Unanue and his wife Carolina, immigrants who first migrated to Puerto Rico from Spain, started Goya in a small storefront on Duane Street in Lower Manhattan. Driven by the belief that there was a growing consumer market for high-quality, fresh-tasting, Latin foods, the Unanues catered to local Hispanic families by distributing authentic Spanish products including olives, olive oil and sardines
Yellow rice, or Arroz Amarillo, is a staple in the homes of many Latino families. Virtually every Hispanic culture relies on a yellow rice recipe as the basis of many meals.
Make this simple GOYA® yellow rice recipe a favorite in your home, too—the GOYA® Sazón with Coriander and Annatto will make it scrumptious. You can also use GOYA® Yellow Rice for a complete mix that makes Arroz Amarillo in no time.
2 tbsp. GOYA® Extra Virgin Olive Oil
½ medium yellow onion, finely chopped (about ½ cup)
¼ green bell pepper, finely chopped (about ¼ cup)
1 medium tomato, finely chopped, (about ½ cup)
1 packet GOYA® Powdered Chicken Bouillon
1 packet Sazón GOYA® with Coriander and Annatto
1 cup CANILLA Extra Long Grain Rice
1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil. Turn off heat; set aside.
2. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onions and peppers; cook until soft and translucent, 5 – 8 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, chicken bouillon and sazón; cook until warmed through.
3. Pour rice into pot; stir to coat. Cook rice 1 minute. Pour in hot water; stir to combine. Bring rice mixture to a boil. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, until rice is tender and water is absorbed completely, about 25 minutes.
4. Fluff rice with a fork and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes before serving.
We use Goya adabo, sazon and so much more. Goya Foods remains firm in its goal of being the brand of choice for authentic Latin cuisine while retaining its family oriented approach to its consumers and its roots in the culinary traditions of Hispanic communities throughout the world.
