Give Yourself An At Home Mani For The Fourth of July

Perhaps the biggest holiday of the summer is coming up. Celebrate the Fourth of July in style with an at home mani, using Lauren B. Beauty products.

Give yourself an at home mani

Ring in Independence Day with a red, white and blue manicure using Lauren B. Beauty nail polishes. Before we get started, make sure you have the right colors.

First, you’ll need red. They have many shades to choose from (seven to be exact), but I will be using Rodeo Drive. I love the bright red of this shade. Next, you’ll need white. I will be using Santa Monica Shutters. It’s white, with a pearlescent shine. It’s gorgeous! Lastly, you’ll need some blue too. Lauren B. Beauty’s PCH is just right to represent the blue of our beloved flag. (They have ten blue shades in total.)

You need a few more things

Okay, now that you have your three USA style colors from Lauren B. Beauty, you need a few other things before you get started. You’ll need some nail polish remover if your nails aren’t bare. You’ll need a file, a buffer, some cuticle oil, and a orangewood stick (a cuticle pusher.)

Let’s get started

If your nails aren’t bare, remove the polish, and then wash your hands. Next, shape your nails, and gently buff the surface with your buffer. For a real spa like feel, soak your hands for two to three minutes, and then use a nice exfoliating scrub on them. (You can make your own with sugar and coconut oil, even add in a little essential oils for scent.)

Okay, wipe your hands off and push back those cuticles. Once you’ve done that, massage a bit of oil into them, this will soften them right up. Now it’s time to push them back.  I hate this part because mine come so far down on my nails, and it actually hurts a bit.

You’re ready for polish!

Now you’re ready for polish! If you have deep ridges in your nails, apply a base coat first. I use this one from Lauren B. Beauty. Be creative with your three colors, and show your American pride! Let’s see your fancy nails! Find this post on our Facebook page, and show us your Americana mani’s.
