Get Kids Ready for School with a Fun Book

Heading off to school can be daunting for young children. I have a wonderful children’s book that you can use to help them get ready.

Get Kids Ready for School with a Fun Book

Part of getting young kids ready to start their learning adventures at school is preparation. This should start at a young age, because it’s never too early to teach them to fly. In Adam Lehrhaupt’s new book, Chicken in School, children will follow Zoey as she tours her new school.

Chicken in School

Zoey is a chicken, and she’s embarking on her first day of school. But since she’s a chicken, she can’t go to a “typical” school. Also, all of her farm friends like the pig, cow, and mouse, want to go to school too. So Zoey makes her own school.

School has snacks. It has crayons. And it has books. Zoey’s school has all of this too. However, her idea of what these things are for, are different from that the other animals. One thing they can all agree on, is that recess is fun!

Great for preschool, and day care

Little ones will enjoy the illustrations by Shahar Kober, as much as the endearing story of Zoey and her friends. Since preparing our kids for school should start young, I think Chicken in School is the perfect addition to any preschool classroom, and even for daycare.

Liam is young at heart, and he himself enjoyed reading Chicken in School. He plans to take it to our local Head Start, where he will read it to the children. Then he’s going to gift the book to them. He loves visiting his “alma mater,” the “little school,” and reading to the kids there. His preschool teachers enjoy it, as do their classrooms every year.

Where to buy

To get your babies a copy, or to grab one for your preschool, or daycare, head to Harper Collins. You can also find it on Amazon and at Barnes & Noble. Be sure to follow Harper Collins on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up to date on new book releases.
